In the culinary offer of Prodnik inn most attention is devoted to preparation of Upper Savinja and other traditional Slovenian dishes according to old recipes and by using the finest ingredients - many of them are grown on our Eco farm.
A seductive smell of fresh bread is coming from the oven every morning. We bake semi-white bread and our specialty, buckwheat bread with walnuts - for both we’ve received a silver and gold award Delicacies of Slovenian Farms 2013. By prior arrangement we can also bake ajdnek and several types of pastry.
Our homemade Upper Savinja stomach (zgornjesavinjski želodec), carefully stuffed with hand-cut pieces of bacon and best pork meat, traditionally dried on wooden boards, will impress you - served in thin slices, together with homemade pork pâté, cheese from the surrounding mountains and sour vegetables, including our asparagus in vinegar. Prodnik’s stuffed stomach has received a silver award Delicacies of Slovenian Farms 2013.
In addition to mushroom soup and beef broth with homemade noodles you can taste – in spring – our asparagus soup. If ordered in advance, onion soup is available, too. And we recommend potato salad to accompany Upper Savinja dumplings (žlinkrofi), stuffed with bacon, sausage, roast beef and spices.
Within our wide selection of desserts you’ll find buckwheat štruklji with walnuts, served with cream or cottage cheese štruklji that our guests like the most with walnut or caramel topping.
